Greenville Follies is a fund-raiser for community projects that
presents a musical revue. The cast and crew are composed entirely of
local residents. Follies is glitzy, fast paced entertainment where local
talent gets star billing in comedy and production numbers that rival
professional stage shows. The Follies fund-raiser started in 1987 and
is held every 2 years (formally every 18 months). There have been a
total of 14 shows raising over $480,000 for local non-profit organizations.

FOLLIES
BENEFICIARIES REACH BEYOND
GREENVILLE TO HELP
HUNT COUNTY
Since
1987, the Greenville Follies organization and its hundreds of volunteers,
Underwriters, Angels, advertisers, and audience members have raised
over $480,000 for a variety of wonderful projects in our community.
We have helped build the Walworth Harrison Public Library, the Women
In Need Shelter, the Boys and Girls Club of Hunt County, the Audie Murphy
American Cotton Museum and the curb extensions in Downtown Greenville.
We have also purchased thousands of dollars worth of equipment for the
computer certification lab at GISD's New Horizons Learning Center, the
Municipal Auditorium, and the Ja-Lu Municipal Park, helped Habitat for
humanity, the anilmal shelter, YMCA and FISH. The 2007 show donated
all proceeds to two organizations – The Senior Center and Public
Transit, Inc (SCRPT) and The Greenville Rotary Post Office Foundation,
Inc. As you can see, Follies "funds" touch many lives
throughout our area.
For 2009, we have turned our attention to Community Health Service
Agency.
